Latest on the Madeleine tragedy

Mr Mitchell added that the release of the confidential police documents was a "blatant and timed smear campaign", designed to coincide with the McCanns' efforts to promote a child alert system in Brussels.

But journalist Nacho Abad denied that he had been party to any deliberate timing over the release of the statements, telling Sky News: "I made them public when I got them."

The transcripts show Mrs McCann told police about a conversation she had with Madeleine on the morning she vanished.

"While we were having breakfast, Madeleine said: 'Mum, why didn't you come when we were crying last night?'," she said.

She added: "Gerry and I talked about it for several minutes and decided to watch over the children more carefully at night."

Gerry and Kate McCann in BrusselsFriends of the McCanns said the couple had been "puzzled" by Madeleine's remark as she had not apparently been crying when they called in for regular 20-minute checks from the restaurant across the pool where they dined each night during their holiday.

They said one of the McCanns' friends, Rachael Oldfield, had been in the adjoining flat - on the other side of Madeleine's wall - all evening and heard no crying.

The couple also insist Madeleine was not speaking angrily and they did not take it as a reproach.

Her reference to "we" is understood to have referred to Madeleine and her younger brother Sean.

Friends said they now believe the comment could even be a clue that an intruder was in the flat on the night of May 2 and briefly disturbed Madeleine and Sean before fleeing.

The McCanns' holiday apartmentThe leaked excerpts also reveal that two days before Madeleine's disappearance two workers repaired the Persian blinds of the room where the children slept.

On the night Madeleine went missing, Mr McCann said he returned to the apartment by his usual route after his wife raised the alarm.

"I looked everywhere, I returned to the children's room and started to think about what could have happened," he said.

"To my surprise, I realised that I could lift up the Persian blind without effort and almost without any noise."

Mr McCann also reported that the angle of the door had changed earlier on in the evening when he had checked on his children - who were all sleeping.

Reporting from the McCanns' home town of Rothley in Leicestershire, Sky correspondent David Crabtree said the McCanns were upset that the transcript leak had caused diversion in their campaign.

"They still believe that Madeleine is alive and out there somewhere, and that is what they want to focus on," he said.

"They want a full inquiry to be undertaken, not only within the Portuguese police and the judicial system but also by Leicestershire police who have been helping the Portuguese officers."

Rys Jones' killer is named on you tube

Its on page six of today's (30/10/2007) Sun newspaper, and there is enough information leading to the you tube link. In the comments section of a disgusting video of young sink estate chavs showing off guns and vicious dogs you tube user scouser1007 claims that he knows who murdered the poor Innocent 11 year old who was riding his BMX bicycle in Croxteth Liverpool.

A brief search of that users account and it is easy to find the video mentioned along with this comment by another user, "Rys was hit by a stray bullet - it was not intentional, no one set out to kill Rys". To which scouser1007 replies, "who da fuck is no one? It was Sean Mercer who killed Rys and everybody knows". A little later, after much pressing by other users who are understandably anxious to know if it is true, he writes, "for da last time little rhys jones got hit in da nech by a stray bullet and the person who shot da gun was sean mercer the bizies know dis but cant prove it and it is like dis in liverpool guns r ever were".

Now this is not about race, religion, or immigration politics at all. But it is of concern to us all. It is alleged that not only the local people of Croxteth know who murdered the little boy, but also the police. If this is true, then the law in this country is even more of an ass than I for one had originally thought. How can anyone be safe when gangs of deranged delinquents are walking about with guns shooting at each other, and when an innocent child is caught in the crossfire, nobody is prepared to step forward? And if it is true that the police know it was him, why can they not secure a conviction? This information is out, if it was untrue, why would a national newspaper publicise it? The thinly veiled pretence to hide the whereabouts of this information is a clue that even the newspaper know it was him.

The reports appeared in the Portuguese press, which also quoted the man heading the organisation criticising the British Police. Gonçalo Amaral was relieved of his duties later in the dayThe Government Sub Delegate in Huelva Province in Spain, Manuel Bago, has this evening denied the reports that Spanish judicial police have met today with their Portuguese colleagues in the city to discuss the case of the missing British youngster, Madeleine McCann who vanished from the Algarve last May. He also commented that there were no plans for any such meeting to take place. The reports had appeared in the Portuguese newspaper ‘Correio da Manha’ during the day, along with statements from the man who was at the head of the Madeleine McCann investigation in Portugal, Gonçalo Amaral. He launched an attack on the British police, claiming that they were acting at the whims of the McCanns, who were pretending to ‘disrupt and interrupt’ the investigation. Amaral claimed an example of this was an anonymous email sent to Prince Charles’s webpage, which accused an ex employee of the Ocean Club of having kidnapped the four year old in revenge for being sacked. This had, he is reported to have said ‘no credibility’ for the Portuguese police, who consider that the McCann’s have started a campaign to discredit them.

Have you seen this young lady

madeleine-bimshass.blogspot.com
Hello we are still looking for this little lady.We are still hoping that she is alive and that her captives are keeping her well until of course they can see the wrong they have done not only to Madeleine, not only to her parents, not only to the public by making their hearts wrench at the disapointment of their human race to out pour so much rage and anger over the barbarism of another being ,but to him or herself who as it seems, to be shameless inhuman and minus the heart of a decent human being.
The world is longing for her safe return
Let's have her back
